At what age should I be concerned if my child still has an in-toeing gait?

Asked 2 years ago

Hi, I'm a parent and I'm starting to worry about my child's potential in-toeing. I've noticed that my child's feet turn inward when they walk and I'm not sure if this is normal or if it's something I should be concerned about. Can anyone provide some guidance on when I should start taking action?

It depends on the cause. In-toeing caused by Metatarsus Adductus usually corrects itself in the first 4 to 6 months; some may last till 2 years. In-toeing caused by Tibial Torsion usually resolves in the fifth year, while in-toeing caused by Femoral Anteversion resolves in the tenth to eleventh year. However, see your doctor for examination, counseling, and monitoring.
